Arne Dormaels has a licentiate degree in Criminological Sciences (2000). Since 2008 he is working as an academic assistant at the University College Ghent (Faculty of Business Administration and Public Administration). Under the promotorship of Prof. Dr. Paul Ponsaers and Prof. Dr. Marleen Easton he is working on his PhD research: “Values, norms and perceptions of corruption in Flanders. Study of corruption involving local police forces and municipal institutions". From 2005 to 2008 he was a member of staff at the Association of Flemish Cities and Municipalities, branch police and security. Before that he worked at the Belgian Federal Public Service Home Affairs and at Ghent University, Faculty of Law, department Penal Law and Criminology. For more details, see: www.gaps-ugent.be.
